Alberto Gilardino, Ricardo Kakà, Filippo Inzaghi, Alessandro Nesta and Clarence Seedorf are celebrating reaching their Serie A objective for the season!
ALBERTO GILARDINO: ‘We have qualified with two game left to go. We played really well in Serie A. It’s been an amazing season, from the Champions League preliminaries up until here. We went through some difficult moments, but the group’s strength prevailed. Now, we can think about the final Athens.’
RICARDO KAKA': ‘We reached an important objective. Both sides were affected by the heat today. Even so we played a good first half and created various scoring opportunities. Then the team let up a bit in the second half, but that’s normal considering the heat and the fatigue. Now, there’s the game with Udinese. We have reached our objective for next year’s Champions League preliminary round, which allows us to now focus on the final.’
FILIPPO INZAGHI: ‘I thought that the first goal was good but the important things is that we qualified for the preliminary round of the Champions League next year. We hope to take forward from Athens. The heat held us back a bit, but we played a good game. We are satisfied. Now, we will be playing for the big one in ten days.’
ALESSANDRO NESTA: ‘We are satisfied. It was really hot in Bologna today and we had to labour through that heat a bit. We should have closed the game in the first half. The draw with Catania made me a bit angry. As of today the league on paper is finished for us. We wanted to go into the Champions League winning, but it’s okay like this too.’
CLARENCE SEEDORF: ‘I am not happy with the entire game, but I am happy that we reached an important objective. It was a tough year for us. Now, we should celebrate this day even though we didn’t’ win and it wasn’t a great game. Nevertheless, we have reached this certainty for next year. Now we can prepare for the final with the right attitude.’ Today Milan’s number 10 scored his tenth goal: ‘I won’t stop here…’

Clarence Seedorf
Just like the number he wears on the back of his shirt, Clarence Seedorf has reached ten goals for the season. The big TEN came against Catania on Sunday on a warm afternoon in Bologna when he hit an unstoppable left-footed shot into the roof of the net to put the Rossoneri ahead.
The Dutch star, who is not afraid to cry and sweat for the cause, is having one of his best seasons on record. Never before has he scored ten goals in one campaign and we cannot forget that the attacking midfielder went through a difficult period before turning things around at just the right time. Catania striker Gionatha Spinesi may have scored an equally splendid goal but with results from other games going the right way, Milan secured a top four finish and a place in the Champions League preliminary rounds for next season.
Milan can now build towards the final in Athens where it will be as warm as it was in Bologna and they can certainly count on Seedorf to turn in another brilliant performance.

CARLO ANCELOTTI
'We can be happy and satisfied at mathematically reaching the Champions League preliminaries. Considering how we were in the first half of the season we can say we have reached a great target. Now we will think about the final in Athens against Liverpool.
'We are pleased about this objective that was essential to reach. We are certain to be in the Champions League preliminaries which was indispensable for the whole environment. The European Pass was too important. We have made it ahead of how soon we thought we would. I have to say I thought it would come down to the last day but instead we have reached it beforehand. That's good and we can now turn our attention to the final, we have 10 days to train and think about Liverpool.
'Closing the account on the championship provides the ideal preparation to think about the Reds. We have had plenty of difficulties this year, I repeat, let's forget about the first half of the season, but also in the distance we had from fourth place until a short time ago, we have come from very far behind. We have done well. There has been excellent work on the part of everyone, the team, the club, the whole environment. If we weren't all good then maybe we wouldn't have arrived at a result such as against Manchester United.
'We have reached two objectives: fourth place and the final. It's up to us if we still want to make our season unforgettable.'
